As both a community advocate and a credentialed teacher, Sheila acts as a vital link between the classroom and the community. She thoroughly enjoys coordinating and instructing Roots of Empathy here on the Sunshine Coast. When not in the office, search her out running and riding local trails or harvesting kale in her backyard garden.
Jess is this year’s coordinator after 3 years working with the program. In addition to her experience with the Nights Alive program, Jess has facilitated improv workshops through the Gibsons Youth Centre (Our Space) and is currently training to become an elementary school teacher. She loves theatre sports and stretching.
Siobhan is a newcomer to Nights Alive and has been eagerly awaiting her opportunity to participate! She has previously worked with youth in the Restorative Justice Program on the Sunshine Coast and has conducted various workshops concerning safe community spaces for young adults. She loves music, travelling and playing with her two kittens, Penguin and Cleopatra.
Christie Woodin began her career in Special Education and has worked in a variety of capacities in a number of school districts in the Lower Mainland. Her passion for community and inclusion then led her into working to create personal support networks for isolated individuals. Moving from Vancouver to the Coast 13 years ago was an opportunity to be home with her growing family and to pursue much loved outdoor activities. It is her great pleasure to be back in the classroom delivering some of the excellent social emotional learning programs offered by the Community School.
