Mountain Biking

Roberts Creek Community School Society administers and delivers free after-school mountain bike programming to grades 6-8 students at several SD46 schools. A credentialed instructor trained in First Aid guides students on rides down local trails, providing skill and technical instruction as well as basic bike maintenance skills. A staff person helps to support the children and high school team riders volunteer as mentors. Parents are encouraged to join in on the rides and help to transport bikes as needed. Sessions are 8 weeks in duration and 2-3 schools receive programming over the course of a school year. Special events likely include: training for parent volunteers, trail cleaning days, Pro Rider Demonstrations, and the Dirt Shredder Mountain Bike Race.
